Also, he pretty much has a monopoly on the industry right now, so artists know that they will never reach the level he is on without taking him down.įinally, it's also because the industry has a high school-esque mentality. Then of course, there is the hint of jealousy due to the fact that he is so successful. They feel like he doesn't really take Hip-Hop seriously either.
Because of that he can't get away with doing the same things that Jay Z etc do, as he is not respected in the same way. People see him as a joke, and the fact that a joke managed to get so far annoys them. There's also a complete lack of respect for him due to his background. They also feel as if he is feeling himself too much and has become arrogant. Not keeping your word is the quickest way to become public enemy #1 in the industry. There has been plenty of times that he has made promises to other artists/producers etc and not followed through on his word. He'll act friendly with you and project this image to the public that he is helping out all these various artists, but the way they see it, he's not helping anybody except for himself. They feel like he is fake and uses others as pawns to further himself. And no, not everybody in the industry with a problem with Drake is jealous of him. It's a combination of reasons, jealousy only being a small part of it.

People don't want to be too close to him as he has shown that he is a "chatty patty" and will put people's business out there to further whatever agenda he may have. He has become a bit of a cast out now though. If it wasn't for the hate that the industry has for Drake, Meek would have been blackballed by now. He doesn't want his name all over the front of this beef though. Anything Meek needs, Puff will have it sorted for him. However, he wants it to be a behind the scene roll so it doesn't interfere with his money. He already had chats with execs after the incident happened in Miami and he was basically told that the whole thing needs to be squashed and ended as it is bad for business and they'll have to cut ties with him if he continues with it.Īs ya'll probably guessed, even though the Drake "beef" was squashed, Puff still does not like Drake at all and is backing Meek all the way. It was something Puff didn't want to be brought to mainstream attention and for people to start talking about again. If he knew about it, he would have requested that Meek take it out.
